Nominations for the Februrary 2024 Ministerial Elections
In accordance with Article 6, Section 1 of the Third Constitution of the Social Liberal Union, a Ministerial election is now triggered.
I, Helvurium, will serve as Election Administrator and shall execute the duties of this role to the best of my ability.

Nominations shall begin on 19:55 UTC on 1st February 2024, and shall last for seven (7) days, concluding at 19:55 UTC on 8th February 2024, after which voting shall commence.
Any eligible Member State may nominate themselves or another eligible Member State, subject to their acceptance, for any Ministerial position.
Eligibility Requirements
A candidate for Ministerial office must be a current Member State not otherwise disqualified from holding office by the Court of Justice.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the Social Liberal Union, an election for the office of World Assembly Delegate will be held for a period of one week within 48 hours after the close of nominations. Nominations open on Thursday, 18th of January 2024 at 08:15 UTC and close on Thursday, 25th of January 2024 at 08:15 UTC.

The term of office is four months, as specified in the certificate of election, which will be issued in due form once voting has concluded and the ballots are canvassed, tabulated, and certified according to law. The term for this office may only be renewed once consecutively.
QUALIFICATIONS AND NOMINATIONS:
Any Member State may, if eligible, nominate themselves for this office, or, subject to their acceptance, another eligible Member State. The requirements to hold the office are as follows:
1) Must be a current Member State in accordance with the Constitution; and 2) Must have been a Member State for at least three months; and 3) Must not have served two consecutive terms as World Assembly Delegate immediately preceding this election.

Nominations open on Wednesday, 22nd November at 22:15 UTC and close on Wednesday, 29th November at 22:15 UTC.

The term of office is five months, renewable once consecutively.
QUALIFICATIONS AND NOMINATIONS:
Any Member State may, if eligible, nominate themselves, or, another eligible Member State (subject to their acceptance).
1) The nominee must be a current Member State in accordance with the Constitution; and 2) The nominee must have been a Member State for at least 2 months; and 3) No State may be elected to this office more than twice consecutively.

Encouragement of Civic Engagement Resolution
WHEREAS, the Social Liberal Union operates an out-of-character government that is responsible for the enforcement of the laws passed by the will of the membership through the Open Parliament; and
WHEREAS, participation in this government is essential to our regional security and growth; and
WHEREAS, several candidates have recently run unopposed and deadlines are continuously extended for government positions; and
WHEREAS, several government offices remain unfilled due to the lack of civic engagement from Social Liberal Union membership; and
WHEREAS, the government of the Social Liberal Union is now only being held together by a few dedicated individuals who, despite appearances, cannot be expected to maintain the Union themselves forever;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Open Parliament of the Social Liberal Union recognizes the need for civic engagement by its members; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Open Parliament of the Social Liberal Union hereby calls on member states to reach out to ministers for information on open positions and to take on their constitutionally granted role as de jure legislators.

TMQ is the Harndonian publicly owned broadcast network - it is governed by strict impartiality laws (within the confines of defence and furthering of the revolution). The international broadcast arm of the service - TMQ Miyana - provides Harndonian-standard news, comment, journalism and documentaries in Gibberish, and has capacity for broadcast of radio and television, with a prominent website and weekly printed newspapers. Some - capitalist, predominantly - nations view TMQ Miyana as a propaganda organisation.
